Officials have been are examining the location, which is understood to be in a southern district of the city.

Pattern of Assaults

Since the onset of the large-scale conflict in Ukraine, a string of Russian military officials have been attacked within Moscow.

This new event echoes other serious incidents, such as:

  • General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a car bomb attack in Moscow earlier this year.
  • General Igor Kirillov perished in late 2024 when a bomb hidden on a scooter was detonated remotely.

While a Ukrainian source previously linked Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such assertions are rarely officially confirmed as a matter of policy.

Hostilities has witnessed covert operations reaching into the heart of the Russian capital.

The probe into General Sarvarov's death continues to be active.
