British tennis star Emma Raducanu wraps up this year's campaign and plans to retain her coach through next year.
Raducanu reached the third round in three out of four Grand Slam events in the current campaign.
Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in her final two events of the year as a result of a medical condition she has been fighting in recent days.
At 22 years old had planned to participate in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to regain her health ahead of launching her preparations for 2026.
Her upcoming training are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.
The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match against Ann Li in Wuhan and withdrew when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.
She needed once more medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.
Her movement was noticeably restricted in the final set in the match with Zhu owing to back discomfort that has troubled her during parts of the season.
Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 after a long gap since her previous ranking, concluded with three straight losses.
Raducanu had three match points before losing to Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.
The player achieved 28 victories this year and reached the semi-finals in the Washington tournament, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.
Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula.
Her coach was Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in in time for the US Open.
The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was through the season's conclusion but the partnership will continue, with a training session scheduled late this year.
The athlete revealed that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.
She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati in August.
The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
