Clair Obscur Triumphs at the 2025 Golden Joystick Ceremony
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place on Thursday, and in a stunning display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. This surprise role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the prestigious Top Game award, along with accolades for Outstanding Narrative and Top Visual Design.
Adding to the studio's triumph, its talented cast also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English won Best Lead Performer for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his role as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team won seven awards during the show.
Other standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Outstanding Independent Game and PC Game of the Year. It is important to note, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the public, with only 4 categories—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—judged by reviewers.
