David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
A spokesman for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.
The publisher has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.
His bibliography includes more than 40 books combined, which features a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.
From Screen to Page
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
