Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is unclear and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the the regime, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the government.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.

It said missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
