Third-party negotiations focused on achieving a comprehensive deal on a Trump administration initiative to stop the conflict in Gaza have begun in the Red Sea resort of the negotiation site.

Local and international officials have reported that the sessions are centered around "creating the field conditions" for a anticipated transfer that would involve the freeing of all captured Israelis in exchange for a group of incarcerated individuals.

Hamas has said it agrees to the negotiation framework in part, but has not responded to several key demands - including its military demobilization and future role in Gaza.
