Standings Update
Led by Cristian Chivu, Inter currently are placed in third position in the table with 27 points total, tied with second-placed Roma and just one point adrift of leaders Milan. Meanwhile, Pisa hold the 18th position with 10 points.
Game Summary
Inter traveled in Tuscany aiming to return to winning ways after suffering a loss to rivals by Milan last weekend, followed by a Champions League loss at Atlético Madrid. Nonetheless, they were made to battle all the way by newly-promoted Pisa. The hosts generated plenty of opportunities, but a clinical Inter broke the deadlock in the 69th minute mark when Argentinian Martínez drilled a first-time shot into the top of the net. The attacker then finished from point-blank with seven minutes remaining.
Inter’s ability to score even with difficult circumstances proved crucial in earning three points.
