Two men have been charged in connection with a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, as confirmed by court officials.

This legal action stems from an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after getting out of a car park lift, authorities reported.

A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.

The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
