Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on Monday, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the passing of his two close friends.”
